Personnel
Robert Carruth, PresidentRobert Carruth serves as Founder and President of ECL. With forty-one years of engineering experience in the oil and gas industry, Mr. Carruth has attained an extensive measure of accomplishment in regards to platform design and project management for offshore structures and production facilities. He received a Bachelor's of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Mississippi, where he was a member of Tau Beta Pi National Engineering Society and Chi Epsilon National Civil Engineering Honor Society. Mr. Carruth began his professional career with Texaco in 1969, at which time he provided engineering support for the planning of facilities and the design, fabrication and installation of drilling and production facilities for the North Sea, Gulf of Mexico and Gulf of Alaska. He later joined J.G.Mackin and Associates in Houston, TX as Engineering Manager for projects such as Shell's Beta Field C Complex offshore West Coast U.S.A., Chevron's Ninian Field Central Platform in the North Sea, and Mobil's Statfjord A platform also located in the North Sea. He then went on to become Vice President and Operations Manager of J.G. Mackin and Associates in Lafayette, LA, where he was responsible for overseeing all engineering activities. In 1982, Mr. Carruth recognized a growing demand for consulting engineering firms within the upstream sector of the petroleum industry. It was at this time that he founded ECL, where he remains President and General Manager. Louis Hoffpauir - Manager Marine BuildingsSince 1988 Louis Hoffpauir has served as ECL's Marine Building Engineering Manager. He currently oversees both front-end and detailed engineering services for unitized and modular living quarters, generator/electrical buildings and utility buildings for offshore fixed and floating structures. Mr. Hoffpauir has engineered over 250 marine buildings during his career, which span from the Gulf of Mexico to locales such as West Africa, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Australia. Prior to ECL, Mr. Hoffpauir worked as a Structural Design Engineer for consulting firms Gilley and Associates and J.G. Mackin and Associates. It was at this time in his career that he attained hands on design/build experience while working as a Construction Consultant and Project Manager at a fabrication yard in Jakarta, Indonesia and the Blue D fabrication facility in New Iberia, La. He contributes over 31 years of structural engineering experience to the oil and gas industry. Mr. Hoffpauir received a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Southwestern Louisiana. He is a Louisiana Registered Professional Engineer and is a member of the following organizations; American Society of Civil Engineers, Louisiana Engineering Society, National Society of Professional Engineers, and Chi Epsilon. Doug Naquin, Facilities Engineering ManagerIn 2007 ECL welcomed the addition of Mr. Doug Naquin as Facilities Engineering Manager. Mr. Naquin holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Southwestern Louisiana, and offers over 40 years of design experience for oil and gas process facilities, compressors and pipelines. Mr. Naquin has acquired a diverse understanding of the oil and gas industry through his contributed engineering efforts to projects both domestically and overseas. In 1992 he began work for the Chevron Nigeria Business Unit, where he was an essential member of an engineering team assigned to design, fabricate, test and install 15,000 BOPD production trains aboard two converted jack up rigs and a 30,000 BOPD concrete barge facility. During this time, he also coordinated front end process and pipeline engineering on the Cabinda South Nemba and Lomba offshore developments. In the mid 90's he spent 5 years as a Process/Facilities Engineer for Chevron Nigeria Ltd. at the Escravos shipping terminal where he coordinated new facility equipment installations for the terminal and surrounding fields, facility debottlenecking, and trouble shooting existing facilities. He was reassigned to the Tengizchevroil facility in Kazakhstan for 2 years where he engaged in various optimization studies and upgrades to existing plant facilities. Previous to his time abroad, Mr. Naquin served as a Senior Facilities Engineer for both Chevron USA and Tenneco, where he coordinated the design, fabrication and installation of offshore production facilities, platforms and pipelines for various properties throughout the Gulf of Mexico. Mike LeJeune, Structural Engineering ManagerSince 1991, Mr. Mike LeJeune has been an integral component of ECL's structural design team. In 1998, after seven years as a project engineer working on detailed design of offshore fixed platforms, marine buildings, and mobile production systems, Mr. LeJeune progressed into his current position as Manager of Structural Design. His 22 years of industry experience enables him to effectively direct and execute the structural engineering tasks required for the design, fabrication, and installation of minimal concept structures, conventional drilling and production platforms, and mobile production units. Prior to his arrival at ECL, Mike LeJeune was a staff design engineer, executing basic project engineering tasks, and performing detailed structural and mechanical design/analysis, and pressure vessel/piping design for Wilcrest Engineering and SRC Engineers in Lafayette, La. He began his professional career in 1988, after receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Louisiana State University. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Louisiana, and serves as a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the Louisiana Engineering Society. |
